Whoa, I just blinked and summer is over!
We really have enjoyed each season here in Calgary, but summer was definitely too short, and autumn even shorter. Thankfully it was a mild autumn and we got to enjoy some really beautiful fall colours as the leaves changed colours. But over the last week, we’ve had our first big snow dump of the year and winter is now most definitely well on the way.

I realy don’t mind the snow and I love donning my winter coat and beanie (or ‘touque’ as they call it here) and cozy gloves and boots – but getting the kids ready for school in this weather is a whole different story! But they are getting used to it – one day at a time.
There is something so magical about waking up to a beautiful winter wonderland after a night of snowfall. When I walk out my house and look down the road at the houses and yards sleeping under the beautiful snowy white blanket, I feel like I’m living in a Hallmark Christmas movie. I don’t think I will ever grow tired of it.
